Athletes from around the world will come to the Capital Region to compete, experience Rachmanus (compassion), Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World) and Amiut Yehudit (Jewish Peoplehood). These sentiments are shared throughout the week during unique experiences designed to strengthen the Jewish bond between people, community and Israel.
We look forward to welcoming all Maccabi athletes to the Capital Region in 2017! The Games will feature baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, ice hockey and star reporter.

Team Capital Region
The Capital Region delegation will be comprised of Jewish teen athletes between the ages of 12 and 16. We are in the beginning phases of creating and building our Team Capital Region.

Q: What are the requirements to participate as a JCC Maccabi Athlete?
A: Jewish Athletes between the ages of 12-16, as of July 31, 2017, can participate in all sports. Local Athletes are required to house two (2) or more visiting athletes.
Q: Do I need to be Jewish to participate in the Maccabi Games?
A: Yes, all JCC Maccabi Games athletes must have at least one Jewish parent.
Q: Do I need to be a member of the Albany or Schenectady JCC to participate?
A: No, this program is offered to everyone who meets the requirements
Q: Is there a cost involved in participating?
A: Yes, there are expenses such as registration fees, uniform cost, games cost, etc. for this national program. Fees will be determined in November when the numbers of athletes are known.
Q: Can I play in more than one sport?
A: No, Athletes are only permitted to participate in one sport.
Q: Will there be practices?
A: Yes, each coach determines their own practice schedule.
