Associate Director for PreSchool

 The Associate Director is a full-time position that demonstrates leadership abilities by creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for staff and all families enrolled in the preschool. The Associate Director assists the Director in operating the center in accordance with JCC policies, procedures and state licensing standards to provide an educational, nurturing, and safe environment for children, staff and parents. This individual, along with the other Associate Director, is responsible for all school operations and assumes all Director responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Director. Meets expectations for delivering exceptional customer service to families enrolled at the school.

Seasonal Afterschool/Vacation Camp Staff Wanted!

Aquatics Lifeguard

Maintains constant surveillance of our members; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of our members and guest members in the event of an emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Head Teachers - Early Childhood Education (Full time- 12 Month Classification)

We are looking for a responsible and vivacious Head Teacher to join the team. The Early Education Head Teacher is responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care, which may include toddlers and/or preschool age children; develops partnerships with birth parents/child’s caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation in program. He/She is also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies; and works collegially with other staff members.

This particular role is a 12 month position.

 Aquatics Instructor

Looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent people skill, that can teach exercise classes in the deep and shallow water. Proper aquatic certification is required, and CPR/AED-First Aid certification needed.  

 

Within all classes instructors are responsible for the safety of participants, including ensuring that all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards and that materials and equipment are safe. Instructors are expected to complete needed paperwork and communicate regularly with participants, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress and to provide exercise modifications allowing for a variety of fitness levels and abilities to participate. Aquatic Fitness Instructors are expected to respectfully manage disagreements and model positive rapport with participants (including in online communities), arrive on time for all assigned shifts or secure appropriate coverage, remain calm manner in stressful and/or emergency situations, maintain regular and frequent communication with supervisory team, maintain an encouraging personality under all situations, the ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations, use independent judgment and have a strong sense of integrity. Personally and professionally, Aquatic Fitness Instructors are expected to attend and participate in all trainings and meetings within employee group and department wide, be receptive to professional and personal development, give and receive feedback, balance time commitments, recognize limitations and work to improve and function as a contributing member of the Albany JCC team.

Hebrew Teacher (Part Time-Early Childhood Program)

We are looking for a responsible and vivacious Hebrew Teacher to join the team for our 2019-2020 school year. The Hebrew Teacher actively participates in planning and implementing the curriculum, working with parents, and assessing the needs of individual children under the guidance of the Early Childhood administration.

This is a part time (10 month classification) position that will work Monday through Friday from 8am-2pm. Paid vacation weeks in December, February and April annually that coincide with the public school vacations.

Early Childhood Music Teacher (Part Time)

We are looking for a responsible and vivacious Early Childhood Music Teacher to join the team. The successful applicant will be charismatic, playful, creative, and energetic, with excellent musical skills, and understanding of child development. The Albany JCC seeks an individual with a proven record of teaching early childhood music classes who is passionate and committed to growing the early childhood program through solid pedagogy. Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential in order to represent the school to our students’ families.

This is a year round part time position. There is potential for this to be a full time role with added responsibilities in the classroom for the right candidate.

Program Assistant (Senior Adult Department - Part Time)

Our Senior Adult Department is seeking a compassionate and highly organized Program Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Senior Adult Program Director with office work, senior meal program, annual fundraiser and other duties as assigned.

Babysitter 

The Sidney Albert Albany Jewish Community Center is looking for a mature, responsible individual to assist in its babysitting room. Our fitness center offers complimentary babysitting for Health, Sports and Fitness members’ children. Babysitters directly supervise the care of children in our babysitting room and are responsible for providing a safe and fun environment for kids of all ages.

Current Need: Fridays 8:00am to 12:00pm. Saturdays 8:00 am to 12:00pm

Accounting Specialist

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance the Accounting Specialist at the Sidney Albert Albany Jewish Community Center is a part of the finance department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization, essential to this position is attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.
