The Jewish Community Centers (JCCs) of Albany and Schenectady, NY seek a dynamic and skilled leader to serve as Executive Director.
Through our newly developed Shared Services Agreement, the Executive Director of the Albany and Schenectady JCCs will provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to best manage the shared services environment so that we maximize our effectiveness within and across the communities we serve.
The new Executive Director will lead all aspects of our complex multi-site operations, community engagement, resource development, financial and strategic growth initiatives. With overall responsibility for the operations of the JCCs, the Executive Director must balance these business needs with a focus on the advancement of the Centers’ mission and vision.
Seasonal Afterschool/Vacation Camp Staff Wanted!
Albany JCC seeking qualified childcare candidates, ages 18+, to assist one of our 4 afterschool sites in Albany for children ages 4-11 years old from September to late June. Hours are 2-5:30pm for offsite locations and 2-6pm for onsite program. Trainings and background check clearances required before start date.
Teacher Assistants (Full and Part Time Available)
The Albany JCC is looking for Teaching Assistants (12 Month Classification) in our award-winning Early Childhood Center. Related experience preferred.

Maintains constant surveillance of our members; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of our members and guest members in the event of an emergency. Head Teachers - Early Childhood Education (Full time- 12 Month Classification)
We are looking for a responsible and vivacious Head Teacher to join the team. The Early Education Head Teacher is responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care, which may include toddlers and/or preschool age children; develops partnerships with birth parents/child’s caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation in program. He/She is also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies; and works collegially with other staff members.
This particular role is a 12 month position.
Hebrew Teacher (Part Time-Early Childhood Program)
We are looking for a responsible and vivacious Hebrew Teacher to join the team for our 2019-2020 school year. The Hebrew Teacher actively participates in planning and implementing the curriculum, working with parents, and assessing the needs of individual children under the guidance of the Early Childhood administration.
This is a part time (10 month classification) position that will work Monday through Friday from 8am-2pm. Paid vacation weeks in December, February and April annually that coincide with the public school vacations.
Pre-K Qualified Afterschool Staff
We are seeking candidates to fill our need for Pre-K qualified staff in our Afterschool program. This person(s) must be cognizant of and then adhere to NYS OCFS regulations. Under the direction of our Youth Director this position will float between our Pre-K and Kindergarten Afterschool program locations at ASH, Montessori, or TOAST in Albany. Position is held from September to June during the Albany School Calendar. This is a part time position on Monday through Friday from approximately 2pm-6pm.
Camp Olam Site Director (Seasonal Summer: Late June – August 2020)
Under the direction of our Youth Services and Camp Director the right candidate must be cognizant of and then adhere to NYS Health Department regulations. Candidate must be able to assist with camp staff interviews, attend planning meetings, camp promotional events, and work 42 camp days (Orientation, Camp including overnights, and Cleanup/Inventory Day).
Teen Camp Counselor (Seasonal Summer – Late June – August 2020)
Under the direction of our Youth Services and Camp Director the right candidate must be cognizant of and then adhere to NYS Health Department regulations. Candidate must be able to work 38 days during the summer including Orientation, Staff Meetings, trainings, and cleanup/inventory day.
Babysitter (Part Time)
The Sidney Albert Albany Jewish Community Center is looking for a mature, responsible individual to assist in its babysitting room. Our fitness center offers complimentary babysitting for Health, Sports and Fitness members’ children. Babysitters directly supervise the care of children in our babysitting room and are responsible for providing a safe and fun environment for kids of all ages.
Current Need: Fridays 8:00am to 12:00pm. Saturdays 8:00 am to 12:00pm

Member Service Representative (Full Time)
The Albany Jewish Community Center is seeking a full time Member Service Representative. This is a Full Time day position Monday through Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service, sales experience a plus, be outgoing and friendly and enjoy people.
This position requires good organizational skills, strong human relation skills, general knowledge of business procedures, good communication skills (verbal and written), willingness to adapt to change and knowledge about Albany JCC operational procedures and programs.
The ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationship with staff, volunteers, members and community is essential.
