CENTER CAMPS

 

Spend your summers at the Albany JCC Center Camps. At the Albany JCC, we strive to maintain quality camp programming for campers of all ages and create opportunities for campers to foster and create new friendships. We infuse Jewish values into all aspects of camp and encourage campers to explore new interests, develop social skills all while enhancing their self – esteem. We create a culture of fun for every single camper all in a caring, nurturing and safe environment. We are a place for everyone.

CAMP TAF is our day camp for ages 3  - entering kindergarten and is run onsite in the Raymond & Ruth D. Laven Early Childhood Center. 

Dates: June 29 to August 21, 2020 

Times: Half Day 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or Full Day  9:00 am to 4:30 pm.  

Early Care  7:30 - 9:00 am & Late Care 4:30 - 6:00 pm is available for an additional fee.

Activities include:

  • Red Cross swim instruction
  • Afternoon Recreational swim
  • Sports & Games
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Nature
  • Dance
  • Music
  • Theme Days
  • Use of the Alfred & Pitoniak Family Playground
  • Kindergarten trip to Camp Olam

 

CAMP OLAM  is our day camp for entering 1st - 6th graders and is located at our offsite camp property near Grafton, NY

Dates: June 29 to August 21, 2020

Times: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm 

Early Care  7:30 to 9:00 am & Late Care 4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Albany JCC is available for an additional fee.   

 *Daily bus transportation to camp! - drop off and pick up at Albany JCC (drop off and pick  up at Camp Olam available)

Activities include:

  • Red Cross swim instruction
  • Afternoon Recreational swim
  • Ropes Course
  • Sports & Games
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Nature
  • Dancing & Music
  • Theme Days
  • Archery (5th & 6th graders only)
  • Overnights at Camp Olam for each age group - July 9 for 5th and 6th Grade, July 16 for 3rd and 4th Grade, July 23 for 1st and 2nd Grade, and August 6 for 5th and 6th Grade
  • All Camp Trip on July 29 - TBD (location) - Trip Fee is $55 per camper.
  • 2 trips to Teen Camp for our 6th graders - July 8 and July 22

Horseback riding - we have partnered again with One Trick Pony to offer horseback riding for our 5th & 6th graders on Wednesdays (unless rain or planned field trip) throughout the summer - $50 per week. Campers will need long pants and sneakers.

TEEN CAMP is our day camp for entering 7th -10th graders.

Dates: June 29 to August 7, 2020  - for JCC Member Early Bird Registrations, please email AndrewK@albanyjcc.org

Times: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm 

Complementary Early Care  7:30 to 9:00 am & Late Care  4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Albany JCC for Teen Campers

*Daily bus transportation to camp! - drop off and pick up at Albany JCC 

Activities include:

  • Water skiing, kneeboard & wakeboarding instruction
  • Tubing fun
  • Canoeing, sailing and kayaking (instructional & recreational)
  • Land Sports (volleyball, ultimate frisbee and fun on the beach)
  • Recreational swim
  • Day trips each week
  • Oldest campers help plan out activities - great leadership development!

Rogers Rock, Lake George - Monday August 10 - Friday August 14. End the summer with a blast. Enjoy hiking, tubing, water skiing, campfires and s'mores! *Rogers rock trip can't be campers first week of camp, no exceptions*

SPECIALTY CAMPS/POST CAMPS at the Albany JCC are specialized camps focusing on STEM, Circus fun, and sports for last two weeks in August - visit our specialty camp page to  learn about all the options we offer. REGISTRATION GOES LIVE ON 3/5/2020!!

CIT (Counselor in Training) Program at Olam is our leadership development program for those who will be 15 by June 29, 2020

Dates: June 29 to August 21, 2020 (choose first four weeks, last four weeks or all eight weeks)

Times: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm  

  • Leadership development program to gain skills/knowledge in group dynamics, role modeling and activity planning
  • Work with camp staff and specialists in planning, set up and teaching of activities
  • Week 8 will be held at JCC Post Camp
  • All applicants must be interviewed and accepted into the program - email Drew Katz to apply for the CIT program
