Jews with Tattoos on Monday, November 26, 2018 7:00 to 8:00 pm
KB Goodkin will examine the movement of young hipster Jews who have taken their faith and translated it into visible, permanent declarations of identity through tattooing. During the workshop, we learn the Halakhot (laws) surrounding the prohibition on permanent markings on the body as well as the psychology behind those who have made the choice to go against those traditional ideas. The workshop is fun, interactive, full of interesting images and ideas and intended as informational – it neither condones nor condemns this practice. Please register online at www.albanyjcc.org/register or in person at the Member Service Desk. View the program flyer here.
Emotional Freedom Tapping on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 6:30 to 8:00 pm
Emotional Freedom Tapping (E.F.T.) is a tool that combines the wisdom of ancient Chinese acupuncture and modern energy psychology. Tapping on specific acupuncture meridian points, open us to insights into hidden fears that keep up from moving forward and achieving our goals. We tap out the old defeating thoughts and beliefs in a gentle container of self-acceptance and tap in new, healthier beliefs that allow us to live more fulfilling lives. On Wednesday, January 16th, Simma Kinderlehrer will teach the location of meridian tapping points, do a demonstration E.F.T session with a volunteer, facilitate a group tapping exercise and provide tools to use at home for self-healing. Please register online at www.albanyjcc.org/register or in person at the Member Service Desk.
